Managerial Behavioral Competency Assessment (MBCA) is a workplace-focused assessment designed to evaluate the behavioral capabilities required for effective managerial performance across industries and organizational settings. The assessment comprises 36 behaviorally anchored items and 2 developmental reflection questions, covering six managerial competencies within three broader domains: Managing Self, Managing People, and Managing Work & Complexity.
The MBCA assesses Learning Agility, Self-Awareness & Resilience, Communication & Influence, People Leadership, Analytical & Systems Thinking, and Execution & Accountability. It focuses on observable managerial behaviors rather than personality traits or technical expertise and can be completed as a self-assessment or multi-source assessment by supervisors, peers, and direct reports. The resulting insights can support managerial development, training needs analysis, succession planning, talent assessment, and leadership readiness.
